Many SEO strategists promise rankings, traffic, or page-one results, but how they get there can look very different. Every SEO specialist has a unique workflow, philosophy, and priorities.
My SEO process is built around long-term, sustainable growth. I want your website to work while you sleep, and that means you need strong SEO foundations.
And while I still give you all the stuff you expect—keyword research, writing metadata, adding it to your website—I think you’ll find my SEO process to be different from what you’re used to (in a good way!)
Your SEO Strategy is Only As Good as the Process Behind It
SEO isn’t just a checklist. You can’t just ask ChatGPT to give you a list of things to do for your SEO and expect to rank on page 1 in a week. It doesn’t work like that.
You need a thoughtful process to get more consistent results. Skipping steps or taking shortcuts won’t get you the traffic you’re looking for.
Following the same strategic framework for every project ensures nothing important is overlooked and creates repeatable, long-term growth.
I’m not relying on luck over here. There’s a proven strategy behind every decision I make for your website.
My SEO Philosophy
Did you know I used to be a website copywriter? So that means I’m the perfect combination of SEO, reader experience, and on-brand language—no clunky sentences ‘for the sake of SEO’ allowed.
I’ve also had clients come to me saying they didn’t love the metadata someone else wrote because it wasn’t on brand. They ended up rewriting it, which defeats the purpose of outsourcing SEO in the first place.
The reader is the main character in this story. Not SEO. Not AI. The person you actually want to work with. SEO and AI are just the supporting characters. And that’s how I approach SEO for my clients.
My SEO Process Step-by-Step
My services are designed to handle all of the hardest SEO work for you. So let’s take a look at what that actually means, shall we?
Step 1: Deep Dive Into Your Site AND Your Competitors’
Because both are equally important. I’ll do a full website and SEO audit to see where you’re already crushing it and check for any red flags I’ll need to address.
Then I’ll take a look at up to three of your top competitors to see how they’re ranking, what strategies they’re using, and what gaps they’re leaving for you in the search results. That’s your biggest opportunity to outrank them!
Step 2: Put Keywords in All The Right Places
Keyword research is my favorite part, and more often than not, I get sucked into the research to find you the best keywords to help you show up in the searches of your dream clients. A win for you, honestly.
Step 3: Write SEO-Boosting Copy
All that time I spent researching keywords comes in handy when I write your copy. I seamlessly work in your new keywords across your website.
Step 4: Handle All The Scary Technical SEO
You’ll sleep easy after I’ve handled all the technical SEO updates your site needs.
Here’s all the annoying techy stuff I do that you’ve maybe heard of but have no idea what it means:
- Optimize text tag structure
- Fix broken links
- Optimize your site speed
- Update your URL structure
- Submit your sitemaps to both Google *and* Bing (which yes, matters!)
- Add in any relevant schema to help you show up in AI recommendations
- Set up all the Google tools you need (like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Google Business Profile)
I’m going to FULLY optimize your website so you know it’s done, it’s done right, and it’s done with (probably too much) care. You won’t be handed a pile of SEO issues you’ll never get to.
Step 5: Plan Your Next Steps
While you can’t climb the rankings without a solid SEO foundation, you also can’t climb without continuing the work.
But I won’t leave you hanging: I’ll give you a list of personalized next steps to keep supporting your SEO, plus access to a video training library to reference as you keep growing.
How often should an SEO strategy be updated?
An SEO strategy isn’t something you create once and forget. It should evolve as your business grows, search trends change, and you learn more about what your audience is looking for.
While the core strategy may stay the same, reviewing your SEO performance at least quarterly helps you identify new opportunities, update existing content, and adjust priorities based on real data.
You should also revisit your strategy whenever you launch a new service, target a new audience, redesign your website, or notice significant changes in search rankings or traffic.
Treating SEO as an ongoing process helps ensure your content continues to support your business goals over time. That’s why I give clients a personalized plan when our project is done!
What Makes My SEO Process Different
Many SEO strategists I’ve come across just deliver a list of keywords or have a “you’re just gonna have to trust me” attitude.
And I hate that for my fellow entrepreneurs who are just trying to reach more clients they can serve.
So I take a different approach by showing you my work along the way. I firmly believe my clients should be aware of what’s happening on their website.
I always:
- Hand over all my keyword research.
- Explain why I chose the keywords I did.
- Show how I brought their messaging and differentiators into the metadata.
- Record a Loom walking through everything that was done on their site.
You shouldn’t be in the dark about what’s happening on your website.
Do you work on all website platforms?
Yes, but I primarily work in Showit. I’ve been a Showit user since starting my business, and I’ve learned that a lot of issues are easily overlooked in Showit. It can quickly become an SEO nightmare.
I educate my clients on how to make changes themselves (see step #5 in my SEO process!), but I also understand that some people just want to hand SEO over and be done with it.
I know fear of SEO capabilities being bad on Showit is what keeps a lot of people from investing in that platform, and I want to help people understand that Showit isn’t bad for SEO—you just need to know how to optimize it (just like any other platform).
Great SEO Starts With a Great Process
At the end of the day, great SEO is about having a thoughtful process that guides every decision. From researching the right keywords to writing content that genuinely helps your audience, each step plays a role in building visibility and trust over time.
Every SEO strategist has their own way of working, and that’s okay. The important thing is understanding the why behind their SEO process. A well-defined strategy should feel intentional, transparent, and tailored to your business.
If my approach sounds like the kind of partnership you’re looking for, I’d love to help you create an SEO strategy that’s built for sustainable, long-term growth. Learn more about SEO Sprint.
